IGNOU Seeks Full-Time Japanese and Russian Consultants

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is seeking to hire full-time consultants in Japanese and Russian at the School of Foreign Languages. The positions will be initially for a period of six months, with the possibility of extension based on the university’s needs.

The consultants will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the design, development, and delivery of academic programs at IGNOU, ranging from certificate to postgraduate level. This will include writing and editing course materials, preparing audio and visual materials, conducting interactive counseling sessions through radio, television, and social media platforms, coordinating with regional centers and learner support centers, and assisting faculty and program coordinators with day-to-day course development and maintenance.

IGNOU is looking to fill one position in Japanese and one position in Russian. The remuneration for these positions will be in the range of Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 60,000, as per IGNOU norms.

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must have a master’s degree in the relevant language with a minimum of 55% marks for general category candidates or 50% marks for reserved category candidates. Desirable qualifications include a NET in the relevant subject, a Ph.D. in the relevant language or area with two years of teaching experience, research publications in the relevant language or area, knowledge of ICT-based teaching and learning, and experience with the design, development, and delivery of MOOCs in the relevant language or area.

Please note that these positions are purely contractual and that the selected individuals will have no right to absorption or regularization in the university. No TA/DA will be paid for the interview, and only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. The date of the interview will be announced at a later time.
