Indira Gandhi National Open University, a pioneering Distance Education University, is considering to introduce a 3-year Bachelor Degree Program in “Office Administration” in the university education system of the country.
According to the university this program is primarily aimed to enhance the employment potential of the youth with 10+2 qualification (or 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 qualification under the New Education Policy -2020) and also to meet the in-service needs of employed personnel (Office Multi-Tasking Staffs/ Assistants/ Accountants etc.) who are holding 10+2 qualification. The candidates acquiring such qualification in Office Administration are expected to be much more useful to meet the needs of the employers and also to the society at large.
This would essentially be a multidisciplinary qualification needed in the modern day office administration and management which shall be mainly involving the applied courses in the areas of Science and Technology, Management and Commerce, Information and Communication, Humanities, Social Sciences and the Law including a few courses in Life Skills etc.
